February 26th was a pretty big day for the Cowley household as Mika officially married Romy Ahounou in the backyard carport of the Glover’s house just a few miles from ours in southeast Portland. It was a simple affair, COVID in mind, with Stan Cunningham of The Well Community Church officiating. A beautiful array of simple foods and stellar coffee and chai (from Diaspora Cafe) kept our 30+ guests warm and well fed.

The performance was livestreamed since so many of our friends and family as well as Romy’s back home in Africa could not attend in person. We all hope to celebrate with more friends and family later in the summer, but for now it was an intimate affair.
