Lincoln City's Roads End

If you’re simply traveling north or south on Highway 101, you’ll likely never come across Roads End. The historical sign puts this place on the map into context: platted as Roads End in 1926, this start of the Salmon River was used for generations of Indians as an inland route. It became noticed to the western world by a couple on their honeymoon in 1837. Those are some hardcore honeymooners! Now you can pull up in your car, park in the lot, and explore the beach for miles to the south, but not quite so far to the north. Due to the rocky outcroppings, you just can’t get very far though, at low tide, you can enjoy a secret beach that few others would dare adventure to.

As you start to near the end of the beach, look into the hillside for a special swing that takes some skill and an extra pair of helping hands to give you quite the thrill.
