Dry Creek Falls via Pacific Crest Trail

This past Sunday was Mother’s Day here in the U.S. and it seemed fitting to choose a hike that mom can go on. Cascade Locks only takes about 40+ minutes to get to from southeast Portland and hosts a nice easy hike called Dry Creek Falls via PCT (because you take the Pacific Crest Trail to the falls). Alltrails shows this at 3.6 miles out and back.

Damage from the Eagle Creek Fire of 2017 is obvious, but surprisingly not terribly distracting. I’ve said in previous posts I find the black from fire damage even an artistic boon in contrast that makes for some interesting shooting.

For the first 3/4 mile or so the hike has you heading uphill, but it levels off for much of the rest of the hike. On a Sunday afternoon we passed a number of other hikers, but it didn’t feel crowded by any means.
